About Us
- ›This 5-day trek takes you from Marrakech to the top of Jbel Toubkal, at 4,167 m the highest peak in North Africa.
- ›You walk through deep green valleys, past streams and waterfalls, and stay overnight in small Berber villages and stone refuges.
- ›We start in the village of Imlil in the High Atlas, famous as a film set for Seven Years in Tibet, and walk to the nearby village of Armd.
- ›The next two days take you up via the Tizi N'mzik pass (2,500 m) into the wild Azzaden Valley, and on to the Neltner Refuge at 3,206 m, the base camp for the summit climb.
- ›On day 4, an early start before dawn for the long climb of about 3.5 hours to the summit of Toubkal.
- ›On a clear day you can see far across the High Atlas and down to the Marrakech plain.
- ›We come back down by the Tizi n'Ouanoums pass to the refuge for a well-deserved rest.
- ›The last day we walk back to Imlil through the green valley and the Sidi Chamharouch shrine, and drive back to Marrakech.
- ›The trek is moderate to hard but does not need mountaineering skills, just a good basic fitness.
- ›Mules carry the luggage.

Day 1 — Marrakech to Imlil and Armd (2,151 m)
- ›Pickup in Marrakech in the afternoon.
- ›We drive about 1.5 hours into the High Atlas to Imlil, a busy little Berber village famous as a film set for Seven Years in Tibet.
- ›From Imlil we take a short walk to the neighbouring village of Armd at 2,151 m.
- ›Dinner and overnight in a simple Berber guesthouse with great views of the Toubkal massif.
- ›Good time to drink mint tea and get used to the altitude.

Day 2 — Armd to the Azzaden Valley (2,500 m)
- ›After breakfast we meet our mountain guide, our muleteer and the mules that will carry the bags.
- ›The walk goes up in steady steps through green and beautiful nature, with lunch prepared on the way.
- ›We cross the Tizi N'mzik pass at 2,500 m and walk down into the wild Azzaden Valley.
- ›Dinner and night in a simple stone gite in the valley.

Day 3 — Azzaden Valley to the Neltner Refuge (3,206 m)
- ›After breakfast we keep climbing through ever more spectacular scenery, with green valleys at the bottom and rocky peaks above.
- ›Lunch on the way.
- ›We reach the Neltner Refuge at 3,206 m, which is the base camp for the summit climb.
- ›Time to rest, hydrate and prepare your gear for tomorrow's early start.
- ›Dinner and night at the refuge.

Day 4 — Summit of Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m)
- ›Pre-dawn departure for the big day.
- ›We climb steadily for about 3 hours 30 minutes to the summit of Jbel Toubkal at 4,167 m, the highest peak in North Africa.
- ›On a clear day the view is amazing — far across the High Atlas peaks and down to the Marrakech plain.
- ›After photos and a short rest at the top, we go down by the Tizi n'Ouanoums pass and back to the Neltner Refuge for a hot meal and a well-deserved rest.
- ›Dinner and second night at the refuge.

Day 5 — Neltner to Imlil and back to Marrakech
- ›After breakfast we walk back down to Imlil through the green and partly stony valley, with a stop at the small Berber village of Sidi Chamharouch at 2,275 m, a pilgrimage place with a small white shrine.
- ›We reach Imlil in the early afternoon, say goodbye to the guide and the muleteers, and the driver takes you back to Marrakech (about 1.5 hours).
- ›End of the trek.
